SACRED MEDICINE OF THE AMAZON

1:1 Private Sessions North Goa, India

For those at the threshold of inner change.

What is Kambo?

Kambo is a traditional Amazonian medicine, used for generations by Indigenous peoples of the rainforest. It is the secretion of the giant monkey frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor), applied to tiny, prepared points on the skin.

Once applied, the medicine enters through the lymphatic system and then the bloodstream. What follows is intense, brief and deeply physical: heat, pulse, release. Many people describe it as a moment where the body does what the mind cannot, which is to let go.

Kambo is a ceremonial practice, held with respect, preparation and close attention. It is not a substitute for medical care.

How I came to this medicine

My relationship with Kambo began approximately 10 years ago in Bali, when I received it for the first time. The medicine spoke to me immediately.

I had believed that certain things were no longer in my system, and I was surprised. As the purge began, I could see what was leaving: images from my childhood and from situations I had lived moved through me, and I watched them leave my body. I had never experienced anything so direct. That was the moment I felt how deep and strong this medicine is.

I kept receiving it, and in many ways the medicine also found me. I kept traveling and meeting people connected to Kambo, until I returned to South America, where I come from, and entered the Peruvian jungle.

There I completed a full training for Kambo practitioners, immersed in the Amazon. I lived in Peru for more than seven months, devoted to deepening my understanding of this medicine, including how to work with microdosing.

Every day I connected with the frogs in their own environment, where they are safe, respected and cared for, and where the medicine is gathered consciously. I connected, too, with the spirit of this beautiful medicine.

That experience shapes the way I work: with reverence for the frogs, respect for the tradition and responsibility for the person in front of me.

Why I work only 1:1

Out of that same respect for the medicine and for the person receiving it, I work only with one-on-one sessions, one-on-one ceremonies.

Kambo can bring a person into deep discomfort, emotional release, physical release and contact with their most tender wounds. That is a profound experience, and it deserves an intimate space where it can be honored. In a group, your process happens while others are in theirs, and it is hard for anyone to be fully present for each person at the moment they need it.

Every body is different. One person may need only a single dot, while another needs much more. In a group, sessions tend to become the same for everyone, with the facilitator and helpers moving quickly from one person to the next. Sometimes more medicine is used than what is actually needed and for me that is a firm no, because caring for the medicine is part of caring for the person and the ceremony itself.

In a private session, the dose and the pace follow you, and my full attention stays with your process from beginning to end.

Kambo is a strong and complex medicine. It asks for deep care and respect, for the medicine and for the person who receives it.

What a 1:1 session is like

In a private session, all of my attention is on you: your breath, your body and what is moving through you. The whole process lasts around two hours.

  1. Arrival and intention. We sit together, talk through your health history and any questions, and set your intention.

  2. Grounding. You drink water and we settle the breath, arriving in the body before anything begins.

  3. Application. The medicine is applied to small, prepared points on the skin. Effects are usually felt within one to two minutes.

  4. The intense phase. For about 10 to 30 minutes, the body does its work. Your only task is to stay: breathe, feel, and let it move.

5. Rest and integration. You rest, rehydrate and come back slowly. Keep your schedule open afterwards so you can integrate.

What you may feel

Every person and every session is different. Kambo can bring a broad range of reactions, but never all at once and never with the same intensity.

Common reactions

  • A rush of blood to the head, felt as heat in the face and body, sometimes with a faster heartbeat

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • A frequent need to use the bathroom

  • Swelling of the face and neck, often called "frog face", which usually fades fairly quickly

  • Sweating and, for some, a cough

Other possible reactions

Watery eyes, chills, cramps, dizziness, numb hands and physical weakness. Some people feel the urge to cry or shout, as if releasing emotional and energetic blockages. The mix and strength of sensations depend on the person, the area being worked on and the dose.

Afterwards

Some people notice changes right after the session, others the next day, and for some it takes up to two weeks. People commonly describe more energy, inner calm, mental clarity and a sense of physical renewal. Experiences vary, and sometimes another session is part of the process.

Preparing for your session

In the days before

  • Keep your meals light. Avoid fried or spicy dishes and anything heavy to digest.

  • Pause alcohol, recreational drugs and sexual activity. These choices help you arrive clear and present.

On the day

  • Fast beforehand. Kambo works best on an empty stomach. Avoid solid food and other drinks for about 12 hours before; sip only water.

  • Dress comfortably. Wear loose, relaxed clothing.

  • Free up your time. The whole process can last around two hours, and you may want to rest and integrate afterwards.

Safety and who Kambo is not for

Kambo is a powerful experience for the body, and it is not right for everyone. The discomfort is brief and most people recover quickly, but a safe, supervised space and an experienced facilitator are essential. People with low blood pressure, for example, may faint during a session.

Before any session we go through your health history and any medication you take. Please share everything honestly. If a session is not safe for you, I will tell you.

Please let me know, if you have or have had:

  • A heart or circulatory condition, or a history of stroke or aneurysm

  • Blood pressure that is very low or very high

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Epilepsy or a history of seizures

  • Recent surgery

  • A serious mental health condition

  • Regular medication, especially blood thinners or blood pressure medication

This list is not complete, and it does not replace medical advice.

How often to work with Kambo

It depends on your needs and your health, and we decide it together. One session can already bring results. Many people return, because Kambo works layer by layer and each session builds on the last.

Common rhythms:

  • Dieta: several days in a row, especially for deeper processes

  • Once a week, or twice a month

  • Aligned with the moon, or another personal rhythm

When sessions are close together, I adjust the dose, since the medicine stays in the system and keeps working. After a long break, we begin again with a smaller dose. Many people sense intuitively when the time is right for the next one.
